It's Always Cool in Here!

What a hot day! But we stayed cool, knitting in the air conditioning. Some new books arrived. The popular new book "Wendy Knits" of wendyknits.net fame. Good knitting humor and easy patterns. Also "Morehouse Farm Merino Knits". Basic patterns worked with incredible yarns, and all those cute pictures of sheep!

Another Terrific Tuesday

Roberta stopped in and we now know what has been keeping her busy. She finished another summer tee, this one in Svale and her Manos throw. And while we were putting the finishing touches to her projects she picked out yarn to do two more sweaters. Adele is going to pamper herself with some Rowan Cotton Braid. Harriet continues on her 5th Manos throw.

KAL nite #3

Just a quiet evening knitting with friends - Patsy, Judy, Amy, Joan, Lisa and Laura. Most are still on the front of their sweaters, but Patsy has pulled ahead and finished front and back and is now working on sleeves. There is no KAL next Friday night, so everyone just keep knitting and we'll see you on June 3rd.

Looking for a Fix(ation)

Debbi is in need of some white Cascade Fixation to finish a project. She is only 4 rows from the end. Check your scrap bins, she doesn't need a full ball. Thank you!

KAL Nite #2

Another successful night of knitting. We missed the twins, Ellen and Evelyn. Lisa joined us, she is working with Cabaret. And first time sweater maker (Brooklyn)Patty has chosen Rowan Silk Aran. Enjoy your Mother's Day, it looks to be a wet one.

New Books Monday

It's like a library in here. Copies of 'Sensational Knitted Socks' is in. This book is 'sensational' because it has instructions for every kind of sock knitter. Patterns are broken down for 2-circulars (Laura), 3-4 double points (Maggie and Rosemarie). First time Aran knitters will love 'Aran and Celtics' from XRX. For more of a challenge we have Alice Starmore's 'Fishermans Sweaters'.
Classes coming up this week include Lace part2, Reading Patterns, Socks Cuff to Toe part2, and Mitered Squares. And Friday we get to see the progress made in our KAL.

KAL nite #1

A great success. We all started our summer t's. Everyone got off to a good start, doing their swatches, picking out yarns and patterns. The most popular choice was Cascade Sierra. Patsy, Judy, Cindy, Joan went that way. Jane and Ellen are using Incanto, Jennifer chose Cotton Stria, Pat picked out Rowan DK. Evelyn got a lovely shade of purples and greens in Candy. Shelia stopped by to work on her cable top in Provence. Amy looked quite snazzy in her Jo Sharp fair isle vest. She is working with Dale Svale in lilac. All in all it was a great gathering, lots of knitting and good conversation.
Just in from Lantern Moon the Cabana Twisted Palm Bag. A super fun way to carry around your summer knitting projects!

Terrific Tuesday

Any Tuesday with Harriet is terriffc! Brenda came by to add the finishing touches to her Rowan cardigan, done in Cotton Glace. She once again puts us all to shame with her amazing skills. Janis learned an advanced technique (for her), ssp, otherwise known as slip, slip, purl. Patti is going back and forth between her sock and her purple Cotton Stria top for her Red Hat Lady group. Maggie continues undaunted on her crocheted cardigan...the one no one will afford to make. Laura jumped right into another Sweet Pea Shawl. Amy showed off the progress on her lace. Welcome back Gwen, who is back to work on her Einstein, and Lisa, picking out a novelty to go with her lastest felted bag. And just in are some cute magnetic closures from Muench as seen in Pursenalties Plus for the Strictly Business bag.
